The Orot Pnina power station, located in the lower Galilee, was purchased in 2022 from the Israel Electric Corporation (IEC) as part of the privatization of Israel's electricity sector. It includes 6 turbines operating as 2 combined-cycle units with a total capacity of 660 MW. The power plant operates with natural gas as a primary fuel, with diesel fuel as a backup secondary fuel when necessary.
“After the acquisition of Ramat Hovav in 2020 and Hagit East in 2022, we unified both facilities under the OROT Group (Orot Yosef and Orot Pnina). This integration allows us to streamline maintenance and operations, and enhance the efficiency and reliability across both plants. Together, these facilities are better equipped to meet Israel’s energy needs and maintain our high standards of performance.”
The natural gas power plant is located near the Ein Tut Interchange of the Trans-Israel Highway 6, northeast of Zichron Yaakov in Israel.
